Before the cameras and red carpets, Morgan Freeman was just a regular guy, born in Memphis, Tennessee, on June 1, 1937. His parents, a barber and a teacher, weren’t rolling in dough but they taught him if he wanted something in life, he had to work for it.
He really cashed in playing Lucius Fox in the Christian Bale-led Batman series by Christopher Nolan. With Batman Begins in 2005, followed by The Dark Knight in 2008 and The Dark Knight Rises in 2012, Freeman made $5 million a film.
Almost as famous as his face is that voice. Morgan loaned it to the narration of the March of the Penguins documentary and walked away with $1-million paycheck.
